PAYDAY 2: Crimewave Edition introduces new high-octane heists and new contacts The Dentist, voiced by actor Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), and The Butcher, voiced by Mira Furlan (Lost and Babylon 5). In addition to new jobs and multi-stage contracts, a wider range of weapons such as shotguns, sniper rifles and grenades deliver an explosive kick to the new enemy archetypes that players will face.

New characters, more masks and brand new perk system bring a whole new level of customization to the experience along with a fifth skill tree for seriously stealthy players. The all-new preplanning stage has also been added, providing everything that perfectionist players need to pull off their dream crime spree.

Finding the nicknames for the robbers was just a matter of compiling a long list of nicknames that would seem believable for criminals to have. It was also important that they were short - not longer than two syllables - easy to pronounce and none of them should sound similar to any of the other.

For those who don't know, Hoxton is a London suburb, and the voice of Hoxton is a thick Sheffield accent. Sheffield is nowhere near the town of Hoxton. How does that work out?

Early on in the development, it was decided that the robbers would be British!

Bulldozer- "Please, stay alive, a little longer... So I can kill you myself!"

Easter Eggs

[Safehouse] As feature-less the safehouse feels, there are still plenty of little things hidden around it. Let's have a look.

[Boxes] There are many cardboard boxes placed around the safehouse. This is due to the crew just recently having arrived. The boxes all have a piece of paper with the contents written on it, but some of them have some noticable names. These names include counterfeit, green bridge, and other names of the heists from PAYDAY: The Heist. The most noticable box, however, is the one labeled "Baldwin". This is a reference to "the secret" of PAYDAY: The Heist, otherwise known as overdrill, the overvault, and other names. The box labels all have the same barcode, which, when scanned, would read "I love secrets".

[Graffiti] In the back yard of the safehouse, graffiti can be found. The same graffiti can be found in various other levels, but they are still worth mentioning. One of the noteworthy "writings" is "Pick up the phone!", a reference to the heist Counterfeit in PAYDAY: The Heist. In Counterfeit, the police would be sent to check up on the house you are heisting after the phone is left unanswered. The phone cannot be answered, but it was often suggested during playthroughs of the heist to "pick up the phone".
